What Is The Roadrunner?

If you are looking for a easy solution to help place and pickup cones… you just found it. The Roadrunner is an automatic cone placement and cone retrieval system that attaches to your cone truck. It works by positioning cones and other channelizing devices in your construction zone. Workers load cones from the inside of the truck bed so that no one walks or hangs off the side of your truck. It takes workers out of direct exposure to traffic, and other work zone hazards. It also eases stress on the body. There are two different systems that make up The Roadrunner:

1. CONE PLACEMENT SYSTEM (CPS)

Cone Placement

The Roadrunner Cone Placement System (CPS) saves lives and labor by automating the cone placement. Cones are safely loaded into the machine from the bed of the truck, removing workers from direct exposure to traffic and other work zone dangers. Workers no longer need to walk alongside or hang off the truck to place cones, increasing worker safety. The Roadrunner CPS is mounted to a Cone/Stake Body Truck. Operation only requires one driver and one worker to load the cone magazine from inside the truck bed. The handheld controls regulate cone spacing intervals using programmable timing.

Features:

  • Deploys 28″-42″ Cones with a 15″ base (Barrel and Channelizer compatibility coming soon)
  • Standard. handheld electronic controls for easy operation
  • Sets cones while traveling 12-15 mph in forward or reverse
  • Can be mounted on either side of truck using standard stake pockets
  • Switching deployment side can be done in minutes by an individual worker

2. CONE RETRIEVAL SYSTEM (CRS)

Cone Retrieval

The Roadrunner Cone Retrieval System (CRS) saves back aches, and labor by automating the retrieval of cones, and other channelizing devices; regardless of their position on the ground. It is built to take the sustained abuse from retrieving cones at high speeds. and can be set up in a matter of minutes. The Roadrunner CRS is mounted to a Cone / Stake Body Truck. Operation only requires one driver, and one worker, to unload the stacked cones from the unit into the bed of the truck. Workers no longer need to walk alongside or hang off the truck to retrieve cones. which further increases worker safety.

Features:

  • Retrieves 28″-36″ Cones with a 15″ base (Barrel and Channelizer compatibility coming soon)
  • Standard handheld electronic controls for easy operation
  • Retrieves cones and other devices at 12-15 mph in forward or reverse

Features

  • Requires only a driver and one person in back to load cones into the machine.
  • Manually sets cones at desired intervals.
  • Easily programmed electronic timing mechanism can set intervals automatically.
  • Can set cones from either side of the truck, while moving forward or backward.
  • Easy to operate with hand held controls.
  • Works with standard 15” base cones up to 28” tall as well as with 36” tall cones.
  • Improves productivity and and reduces risk of injury/death
  • Can set cones up to 15mph, depending upon worker’s ability to load cones
  • Weighing only 57 lbs, it can be mounted for use in less than two minutes.
  • Mount system fits easily into stake pockets found on most flatbed trucks.
